Go on a treasure hunt in Florence!
Tenuta delle Rose lies about two-and-a-half kilometres to the north of Montaione, a picturesque locality with around 4,000 residents where items of everyday use are available. Two large supermarkets and lots of smaller shops sell a huge assortment of regional produce from which you can conjure up your own delicious Tuscan meal.
Anyone who enjoys being spoilt has come to exactly the right region: countless restaurants, both local and in the vicinity, ranging from the traditional trattoria to award-winning eateries, look forward to welcoming you. We would be happy to recommend one and make a reservation for you on request. And, needless to say, we’ll let you know where to find the best pizza and the yummiest “gelato”!
Its central location within the Florence-Siena-Pisa triangle makes our estate the ideal starting point for excursions not only to these famous cities, but also to lesser known treasures in this wonderful cultivated landscape. We will be happy to provide you with tips and information.
We can arrange horse riding or riding lessons, a tennis court and bicycle hire for you on request. The renowned and beautiful Golf Club of Castelfalfi golf course is only around 25 kilometres from the Tenuta, whilst anyone hoping for some pampering can chill out at Terme delle Via Francigena. You will find my impressions of the region here.
There is plenty to explore – so our guests appreciate returning to the tranquil setting of Tenuta delle Rose all the more at the end of an eventful day.

In 2006 the world-famous tenor Andrea Bocelli opened his “Teatro del Silenzio” in Lajatico, a small town a good 30 kilometres from “Tenuta delle Rose”. The name translates as “Theatre of Silence” as music can only be heard there once a year – it is silent for the rest of the year.
In summer 2019 it is possible to see Bocelli on July 25th. However, it’s still worth paying a visit to this impressive open-air amphitheatre on other days of the year.
The heroes of the highways will be on the road during the first weekend of October. The “Eroica” is an historic cycle race: the participants set off on old bicycles that are wonderful to watch. The lap times are not important, but the stopovers – with traditional Tuscan refreshments of course – are great. It starts in the marketplace of the little Chianti village of Gaiole.
It is easy to explore Tuscany on two wheels, whether on a racing bike or mountain bike, or on something comfortable but less sporty. Enjoy glorious views on quiet roads amidst unspoilt natural beauty.
Our partners RideMontaione and Landhill have something to suit all keen cyclists, from bike hire to guided tours.
It’s nearly always the golfing season in Tuscany. Conditions are often ideal here – and that’s not to mention the prospect of playing among cypress trees and rolling hills on two of Italy’s most interesting courses.
The Golf Club Toscana Resort Castelfalfi – only a few kilometres from Montaione – has a special offer for guests at Tenuta delle Rose. We would be pleased to make arrangements to register you!
The Marchesi Antinori family has been involved in the production of wine in the heart of Chianti Classico for many generations. The family opened an impressive ultra-modern wine cellar, the Cantina Antinori nel Chianti Classico, in 2013 – at the time the Austrian “Der Standard” newspaper actually described the spectacular architecture as the “Cathedral of Chianti”. Visitors can find out about the building, the family history and, needless to say, the wines on a guided tour through the Cantina. We would be happy to arrange an appointment for you.
Situated just a few kilometres from Tenuta delle Rose, in Gambassi Terme, is a well-being oasis: the Terme delle Via Francigena. The Etruscans and the Romans took advantage of the therapeutic properties of the local “Acqua di Salsa di Pillo” water. Present-day visitors can enjoy so much more than the healing waters as the facility boasts everything a modern spa needs: wellness area, treatments and fitness suite. Even better: guests at Tenuta delle Rose benefit from special terms! You will find an overview of what’s on offer here.
